About the Program
On the Navajo Reservation, 98% of children qualify for free school lunches—part of a great federal program that ensures kids can concentrate on their studies, but one that doesn’t do much for empty stomachs over the weekend. ANA has partnered with Gallup’s Community Pantry to offer bags full of healthy snacks to students in 29 schools this year. Under the program, every Friday, participating schools identify 30 students with the greatest need who receive food to eat over the weekend. Thanks to ANA’s generous donors, the program has grown from $10,000 in 2004 to $92,000 for 2021-2022.
The Pantry has expanded to feed 1,300 children!
We need your help to continue feeding these children for the 2021-2022 school year.
