About the Program
Kids can’t understand what they can’t see. It's hard to learn when you can't see a chalkboard or struggle to focus on the letters in a book. Because many families can’t afford to purchase eyeglasses for their children, ANA pays the cost of no-frill frames and lenses through the Zuni Optical Center. With improved vision comes improved learning and comprehension. And we don’t stop with children: ANA also extends the program to Zuni adults who can’t afford eyeglasses.
Many clients in Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services rehabilitation program are trying to obtain their GEDs. Without the correct prescription glasses needed to see their studies, graduation is not possible. ANA provides glasses for those clients without other means to pay for them.
